Qualifications
- Member in good standing of the Canadian Society of Nutrition Managers
- Must have TB testing and vulnerable sector police check
- 5+ years of experience in Long-Term Care and/or Retirement Homes
- Knowledgeable of the Fixing Long-Term Care Act and all applicable regulations, RHRA Act and other relevant legislation
- Knowledge of the Ontario Food Premise Regulations, CCHSA/ORCA, OH & S Act.
- Food Handlers Certification an asset
- Ability to work in a team and independently
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Excellent organizational and time management skills
- Demonstrates an ability to problem solve
- Computer Literacy – knowledge of PCC and MealSuite an asset
- Must be available to regularly travel within Ontario and provide support to the Homes’ as needed
Responsibilities
- Develop and support annual goals and objectives for the Food and Nutrition department.
- Evaluate the effectiveness of the Food and Nutrition Department through regular audits.
- Supervise the execution of the food service programs at all Homes.
- Provide support and leadership to the Homes’ Culinary Managers to ensure food quality and safety is maintained.
- Develop standardized menus for all Homes, including all support tools.
- Support implementation of corporate menus across the Homes, ensuring compliance and procedures are followed.
- Support the implementation of new technologies, program and solutions throughout the organization.
- Monitor and maintain compliance to dietary budget at all Homes. Including follow up on non-compliance and support to correct areas of non-compliance.
- Conduct onsite audits and regular Home visits for all Homes, reporting to internal stakeholders and following up on action plans.
- Review and supervision of the quality improvement programs, processes and tools in all Homes.
- Collaborate and provide support to the Homes through education and training.
- Participate in annual education planning and meeting coordination
- Recognize safety hazards and promote a safe environment for Residents and staff by following an established policy and procedure and reporting hazardous situation in a timely fashion.
- Assist with onboarding and training of Culinary Managers at assigned Homes.
