Responsibilities
About the Opportunity
If you’re a food service leader who thrives at the intersection of operations, design, and Resident experience, this role was made for you.
As a Food Service Operations Lead, you will:
- Oversee projects from start to finish, including new builds and renovations in Long-Term Care and Retirement Homes
- Provide recommendations on dining spaces, kitchen, and workflow systems.
- Bring your expertise and operational know-how to life by helping transform blueprints into functional, efficient food service environments.
- Educate Home teams on opening requirements set by Public Health and Ministry Standards.
- Support Nutrition Managers during transitions or provide temporary assistance to Homes as needed.
- Travel is required for this role.
This role offers a rewarding opportunity to be a part of the Home’s journey – from concept to full operation. If you have a vision for kitchens and dining spaces, this is your chance to bring it to life.
What a Day in the Life Looks Like
Your day starts by organizing priorities based on the Home’s construction timelines. You might review kitchen layout plans and collaborate with our team, architects and designers to recommend ways to optimize space and flow. Later, you’ll connect with vendors and suppliers to finalize equipment orders, ensuring every piece supports safe, efficient, and Resident-centered operations. You’ll also work with the build team to outline education requirements and place orders for all necessary food service supplies.
On-site visits keep you connected to the practical side of implementation — walking through new or renovated kitchens, checking compliance, and supporting teams as they prepare for opening day. You’ll plan, troubleshoot, and collaborate with teams, contractors, and leaders to keep projects moving smoothly.
Each day your goal is clear: to create dining environments that work seamlessly and feel like home for Residents.
Who You Are
You are a flexible, organized and proactive food service professional who knows what it takes to run smooth, compliant and caring operations in Senior living. You love turning ideas into action, bringing order to busy projects, and working with others to get things done.
You’re comfortable working independently, managing multiple priorities, and traveling when needed. Whether you’re reading blueprints, mentoring team members, or troubleshooting a last-minute issue, you bring confidence, clarity, and care to everything you do.
Why This Role Matters
This isn’t just about building kitchens - it’s about creating welcoming spaces where Residents feel cared and the teams can shine. As a Food Service Operations Lead, you’ll help shape the heart of each Home and ensure decisions made during development translate into long-term efficiency, smooth operations, and joyful dining experiences. Your work will leave a lasting impact on the Residents who call these Homes theirs.
